Upon arrival at the airport, you'll be warmly welcomed by a member of our staff. After a quick briefing and introduction to Nicaragua—the land of lakes and volcanoes—you'll be transferred to the historic Colonial City of León, known for its revolutionary history and vibrant culture. Once at your hotel and checked in, your guide will present your personalized itinerary, ensuring you're ready for the adventure ahead.

Fuel up with a delicious breakfast before heading out to Cerro Negro, one of the youngest volcanoes in Central America. After a scenic 40-minute hike to the summit (728 masl), gear up for the adrenaline-pumping experience of volcano boarding down its sandy slopes. Return to León for lunch and, in the afternoon, enjoy a relaxed Walking Tour of León, where you'll explore historic churches, colonial architecture, and local life with your guide.

Today’s challenge takes us to El Hoyo Volcano, a fascinating geological formation with a massive hole on its side. Known for its scenic views and moderate hiking route, the trail to the summit (1088 masl) features a 2-hour ascent through shaded tropical forest followed by 1 hour of relatively flat terrain. Once at the top, enjoy breathtaking 360° views of the Maribios volcanic chain, Lake Managua, and beyond. A rewarding experience for both body and spirit.

We journey south to the colorful and iconic city of Granada, one of the oldest colonial cities in the Americas. After settling in, we make our way to the Masaya Volcano National Park, home to the only accessible lava lake in Nicaragua. From the comfort of our vehicle, ascend to the edge of the active Santiago Crater. As the sun sets and the sky transforms into fiery hues, witness glowing magma in the darkness—a dramatic and awe-inspiring moment.

Explore the Mombacho Volcano Nature Reserve, a cloud forest filled with exotic plants, orchids, and howler monkeys. Hike the 2.5 km Tigrillo Trail, a moderate loop that offers panoramic views over Granada, the Isletas, and Lake Nicaragua. After your nature hike, unwind at Laguna de Apoyo, a serene crater lake perfect for swimming, relaxing with a drink, or kayaking in crystal-clear volcanic waters. A day of contrasts—adventure and relaxation.

Board a ferry to Ometepe Island, a unique oasis formed by two massive volcanoes rising from Lake Nicaragua. Upon arrival, choose your adventure:

• Option 1: Tackle the towering Concepción Volcano (1610 masl) in a demanding 8–9 hour hike, recommended for seasoned hikers.

• Option 2: Take a gentler yet stunning route on Maderas Volcano (1394 masl), featuring cloud forest, a 120m waterfall, and lush jungle terrain. After your hike, recharge at Ojo de Agua, a natural spring with clear volcanic waters perfect for swimming and relaxation.

After breakfast, we say goodbye to Ometepe Island and begin the journey back to the capital city. Depending on your flight time, we’ll provide a transfer to the airport or assist with any additional travel arrangements. You'll leave with unforgettable memories of Nicaragua’s volcanoes, people, and landscapes.
